Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day!
Black cats are half as likely to get adopted as other colored kitties in shelters. As a result, they end up spending several months longer in shelters than others - if they aren't euthanized. Save a black kitty!
In loving memory of my one and only Angel
I wonder why is that. I have met many black kitties that were very sweet and playful. Too bad my cat will not like to have a companion!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Me too! And they're often just magnificent to look at - mini panthers. I like to see who is available for adoption online... but then I just cry because I want to bring them all home and love them.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that about black cats and adoption... why ever is that? I find black cats beautiful and they have a somewhat intriguing, magical quality to them... or does that sound silly?!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so sad? I totally agree with you, even if it sounds silly hehe, they are magical and mysterious! Their coats are magnificent and make their eyes just *pop* with the contrast! I've seen at some humane societies they have discounts if you adopt a black cat...a nice way to encourage people to consider black cats too.
