My First Goulet Pens Order

IMG_0767 Resized
My parcel arrived and even had a sticker (top) and a bookmark/business card (bottom)! Maybe they knew how much I love stickers...
YAAAA! I made my first Goulet Pens order on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 2:02 a.m. What better reason to stay up late than to order pens? At this stage, being tired clouds my judgment. (Unfortunately, it did not cloud Kevin's judgment who suggested a limit of $100). Not bad though, there was plenty to get for $100! The delightful items I purchased are as follows:

An Exacompta Basic Journal - Lined Paper - Tan Cover with Gold Edge

A Rhodia No. 16 Notepad- DotPad, Black

A Quo Vadis Habana - Blank Paper, Anise (yes... with the new ivory paper... I was too curious to ignore it... I hope it's as awesome as the bright white paper was!)

INK!

More specifically - Caran d'Ache Caribbean Sea, Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses, J. Herbin Rouge Hematite 1670 Anniversary Ink

And most importantly, the reason for this entire purchase: A Noodler's Flex Nib Piston Fill Resin Fountain Pen - Ivory Darkness

Reviews to come! I just wanted to share my newest toys! And if you're at all curious about Goulet Pens, please, please head over to Rori Rants for an outstanding review of the company!

Goulet Pens is one of the places I shop, though not too frequently. Their customer service is wonderful and there is no room for negotiation on the packaging! Looks like you got a batch of beautiful inks! Funny enough, I have those three too (if you count sample as 'owning', Black Swan Australia Rose is so beautiful!)

Yay, you got Ivory Darkness! Cannot wait to hear how you like it, AND how you like the notebooks (I've been wanting to try both of them). Are you inked up yet? haha

Oh my gosh, thanks for linking me!

@Shangching - ahh not frequently enough, you mean. They really are great though LOL and I was totally blown away by their packaging! Same inks eh? Great minds think alike :)

@Rori - Yes! I was so excited they were still in stock! Though I watched the videos of the demonstrator after ordering and I was like rats... I should have gotten that too but maybe I'll wait for the Ahabs hehe

@Jackie - thank you for commenting! I've just checked out your blog too (what an awesome giveaway!!). I'm subscribed to you now so I can keep up :)

I mostly use Goulet these days because they have such a huge variety of inks and they offer those nice samples. I too have a bottle of 1670 but I'm afraid to use it, it's such a nice ink in such a gorgeous bottle...

As for the flex pen, in a couple of days I will post a review of mine (in Lapis Inferno).

How's the Quo Vadis notebook?

I love Goulet! I agree - great variety and the samples are so handy! Except then I want to buy all the bottles...

The Lapis Inferno is really nice. I was debating between that one and the Ivory Darkness and only went with ID because it would "match" more inks of mine (I have very few blues). I am looking forward to your review though. I struggled a bit with mine, trying to get the ink flow just right. Still working on it. Sigh.

The notebook is nice...personally though, I much preferred the bright white paper the Habanas used to have. I could be crazy, but the white paper had a very slightly smoother texture than the ivory one does. I'll try and do a detailed comparison of them soon :)
