Whoa. More superb mailbox goodies! Honestly, I think I get most excited about assembling these posts more than any other posts... First up, I received mail from two overseas pals! I wasn't expecting either so I was thrilled to find them both in my mailbox!

Does anyone recognize the kitty from a certain someone's Twitter? Thank you both for your notes! |
The day I received these two letters was also the day I was expecting my
JetPens parcel - after waiting an extra day for July 4th. Some of you already know of my "fiasco" with the parcel box where I was given the wrong key so I couldn't get my parcel out! I contemplated using a crowbar to open the box and then feigning innocence but I was informed this is a federal offence (thanks MJ hehe). Alas, I was patient and my box was hand delivered to me the next day by the very thoughtful postal worker. He was forgiven.
Today I received my shipment of inks from
Organics Studio. If you haven't heard of them yet, do check out their
website, like them on
Facebook, and/or follow them on
Twitter! They are a new, small company making inks - "Organinks" - I love that! I was one of the lucky people who got the large sized limited bottles - they are hand numbered! I like limited edition and special things like that (What? A sucker? Yeah maybe). In my emails with Tyler of
Organics Studio, I was trying to pick three ink colors when he suggested that he could make a custom colour for me. WHAAAAT? Obviously I couldn't pass up this chance, so I sent him my blog's banner and asked if he could try to make a pink to match it. I was thinking this would take a few months but like, a week and a half later, this parcel shows up.

I even received a sample of Neon ink which is totally awesome and I wish I had ordered it as well. I also ordered the Mercury red, Uranium green, and Gourmet is my custom pink! |
Now, please bear in mind the picture I took is terrible, and I used a very wet dip pen so everything looks very dark, but with what I have tried already, I am absolutely thrilled with these inks. Seriously. I have never ever had a custom ink before - and it's called
Gourmet. It doesn't get better than this.
Organics Studio may be my new hero. I love these colors madly.
|
AWESOME. Isn't this awesome? |
|
Deep pink! |
|
Ok my camera totally does not represent these colors accurately but I will be reviewing these so don't worry, I'll have proper color representation. I just wanted you to get the general idea and I wanted you to know how excited I am! I can't remember the last time I got this excited about ink!! (Well... that's a lie. But I'm really excited anyway). |
Last but not least, these Derwent pencils are not actually from my mailbox. They were purchased at Michael's using those awesome 50% off one item coupons. I am excited to try them out. Remember, I have zero artistic skills so don't expect much. I just thought I'd share them because they're fun to look at, aren't they? All new and pretty!

Inktense on the left, watercolors on the right. |

Inktense. Ooooh... |

Watercolors. Ahhhh... |

:))) AWESOME! We hope you LOVE that color - you are the only person that will EVER have that exact color! ( I may have kept a small sample for myself, as it is a very pretty pink :), but shhhh)
Your mailbox gets so much love every week! I'm a bit jealous, in all honesty :)
I really want one of those glass dip pens, they look so delicate and practical for quick swatching of inks. Did I share with you that Etsy seller that handmades glass dip pens? His/her creations are so pretty :)
I also hope my letter gets to you soon, but that probably won't be until 1 or 2 more weeks (truly snail mail).
I'm jealous that you got some of the limited edition bottles! I was late in finding out about them so by the time I tried to order, they were already sold out. Oh well, I'm going to check out the Organics Studio ink whenever they become available commercially.
And I'm the same as you with the "limited edition" inks. I see them as interesting purchases rather than me being a sucker :P
They all look great! I also want to try glass pens, what is your comment on it?
paw paw :)
Glass pens are superb! This is my second one - the first I have is a Rohrer & Klingner which is bigger and has a broader tip. Glass pens are AWESOME for ink testing - super fast and easy to clean and switch between inks, and they write neat as soon as you get used to how to dip/write! I would recommend all fountain pen/ink users have one!
Hey the Writing Desk in the UK might still have a few - I saw that they just got some this morning!
Organics Studio inks are really great so far. You could order from their site if you wanted, but I suspect they'll be up with at least Goulet Pens soon! I really like these inks though - very nice, unique colors (especially the pink, of course).
HAHAHA hey, I like "interesting purchases" better than being a sucker, so I'll go with that. Thanks for stopping by and for commenting Joe! :)
I must admit, I am very lucky. My mailbox has been a busy bee lately and it's definitely the highlight of my days! The glass dip pens are great, highly recommended for ink users - great, fast way to test your colors out. I had bookmarked the Etsy seller but then switched browsers and uninstalled the first, so I lost it :| Do you still have the link by any chance?? Might be a good giveaway idea... her her!
No worries about the letter, gives me something to look forward to! AND you know it'll be on Mailbox Goodies :D
Aw shucks, thanks for reading and commenting!! I am honored!
You bet I love the colors, especially the pink! I should have ordered more because it looks GORGEOUS in a flex pen. I'll post more in my review as soon as I'm done! Seriously, fabulous color. I am positively thrilled with it :D
Awesome! Im ordering some Organics ink tonight! Looking forward to your reviews :)
