Pilot BeGreen Dry Eraser Marker - $8.01/pack
Features
- Earth-friendly dry erase marker provides vivid, dense writing on whiteboards.
- Long-lasting visible ink supply ideal for classrooms and larger workspaces.
- Refillable for continued use and less waste.
What Do I Like?
There are several things I love about these markers. First, they work really well - intense, vivid ink that flows smooth and wet when writing. It kind of makes me want to write on dry erase boards all the time instead of using paper. Aside from its awesome performance, the marker is also made with 91% recycled content, and it can be refilled up to 4 times (using tiny, simple refill cartridges - less waste!). A wonderful combination - high recycled content, and refillable.
In addition, the marker hardly smells, unlike a lot of other dry erase markers. Yes, I do love the smell of ink, but not when it's overwhelming!
What Don't I Like?
Goodness. Nothing. I think these dry erase markers are wicked.
Pilot FriXion Point Erasable Gel Pen - $2.22 each
Features
- Erasable gel roller ball pen wipes away mistakes without smudging or tearing documents.
- Extra fine needle point creates fine lines on important documents.
- Durable pocket clip assures greater mobility and longstanding use.
What Do I Like?
I am absolutely fascinated by this erasable pen ink. I remember the first "erasable" pens and how atrocious they were, and the Pilot FriXion Point Erasable Gel Pen blows those out of the water. It erases well and with ease.
The writing experience is decent, however, it's not very inky or wet, so it's not as smooth as something like the Pilot B2P gel pen would be.
What Don't I Like?
The friction ball for erasing is located at the back end of the pen - where the cap is posted. So if I want to erase something, I have to unpost the cap and erase, then repost. This isn't a huge deal but it can be annoying if in a rush. It would make more sense to me to put it at the end of the cap!
I also find the ink to be a little too light of a blue - it's a little strange. However, I enjoy writing with the pen regardless.

Pilot FriXion Lite Erasable Highlighter - $11.60/per dozen
Features
- Erasable highlighter features thermo-sensitive ink formula that disappears with erasing friction.
- Bright, vibrant colors won't damage books or documents.
- Highlight and erase repeatedly without smudging or tearing paper.
What Do I Like?
The Pilot FriXion Lite Erasable Highlighter erases very well and very easily - even easier than the Pilot FriXion Point Erasable Gel Pen. But based on the next section of "what I don't like", this highlighter isn't one of my favorites.
What Don't I Like?
Like the Pilot FriXion Point Erasable Gel Pen , the friction ball for erasing is located at the back end of the pen - where the cap is posted. I also find the ink is not bright enough! It's not quite fluorescent. Some people would prefer this but I like my yellow highlighters bright!

Pilot B2P Recycled Ballpoint Pen - $10.63/per dozen
Features
- Planet-friendly pen is made with recycled content from recycled plastic bottles.
- Smooth, effortless, smear-free writing.
- Comfortable latex-free grip.
What Do I Like?
This ballpoint pen does not blob! This is always my concern with ballpoint pens - sometimes I like a blobby pen for doodling, but sometimes you need a nice, reliable ballpoint pen that won't blob ink while you're writing. This also means no smudging - especially for lefties! - and an overall more enjoyable writing experience. Plus, it's made from 86% recycled content. And yes, green and purple are available as colors as well! They are also refillable so each body will last you a good long time. These are quite economical ballpoint pens!
Other than having a hard time finding this pen when it was first released, I don't have much to object about. And it's gotten much easier to find them now!

Pilot G2 Gel Roller Ball Pen - $12.67/per dozen
Features
- Dynamic gel ink formula provides smooth, smear-proof writing.
- Soft cushion grip for supreme writing comfort.
- Special Ink Type: Gel Pen Style: Retractable Ink Colors: Black Pen Type: Roller Ball.
What Do I Like?
The G-2 has been around for quite some time and what I love about it is in all the years I've been using them, I have yet to encounter a "dud". Sometimes economical/entry-level gel pens can be hit or miss, but the G-2 is pretty awesome for being reliable. The 0.7mm is not at all scratchy and offers the perfect combination of smooth, inky writing with low-smudging (or no smudging if you write at a normal speed rather than superhuman speeds). While it is not made of recycled content, it is refillable, so that's not too shabby.
What Don't I Like?
I prefer the G-2 limited bodies because they're more exciting, and I use a regular G-2 refill in them. So it's not that I dislike the G-2 gel pen bodies, they're just not thrilling.
