Changing Journals & Currently Reviewing

I'm sure some of you out there are as obsessive about journals and notebooks and such as I am, so when you come to the end of a journal or sketchbook, you get super excited to start a new one. Right?? Right. It's not just me.

I just finished a Knock Knock "My Dysfunctions" journal. It went pretty quickly though because it's one-sided. The left pages have comical quotes on them. I guess I could have written on them... It's not very fountain pen friendly but I practiced some flex writing in it anyway.

The new journal I picked is kind of boring. I'm not sure why I bought it, but I got it from Indigo in Winnipeg. It was about $10 and there's a lot of pages. Unfortunately, I have recently learned I hate really fat notebooks with big coils. They're hard to write in.
Current Journal
Stupid cheap plastic coils.
Anyway, there's a whole ton of pages and the end is nowhere in sight. This is one of those journals I regret!! AGH! Anyway. Here I am, on a new journal. So far, I've used 10 pages. Maybe. I'm sure I'll be going crazy in a few weeks.I may give up and use it for some other purpose because the coils suck and keep breaking and driving me nuts. Journaling is supposed to be a happy experience, right? Or at least, not an infuriating, frustrating experience.
Current Journal
Eghhhh so many pages...
And just for fun, here's a little pile of things that are in my "currently reviewing"...pile. I've finished up my review of the Daycraft 2013 Animaland Diary, but the rest are in the works! FYI: I heart these highlighters (thanks again Tallia!).

When I have journals that I don't enjoy writing in, I take them to work and use them for quick notes (i.e., I'm on a call with someone and need to write down their email address). This way the paper still gets used, but I don't have to force myself to actually journal in the notebook. If I've used a few pages before I was sure I hated the notebook, I pull them out and staple/clip them to the end of the previous notebook.

Ahh I like this idea. I need to do that. I've been TRYING to use it and it's just making me crazy. I HATE it. So after reading your comment today, I'm going to begin my search for a different journal tomorrow (from my pile of unused journals that is). Thanks for the suggestion. I feel less guilty now hehe.

I don't like fat spiral notebooks either!

I use spiral notebooks for art journals because it is easy to remove excessive pages from them and the covers don't splay out too much, but I don't like writing in them either. Those fat spirals just get in the way. I'd suggest just using this notebook for any kind of scrap notes to get it out of the way as soon as possible and then move onto a better one!

At least I'm not alone :) I had no idea I disliked them so strongly until THIS ONE!

I don't mind spirals that are thick metal (so they don't break like this one...) and are just large enough that you can turn the pages. This one is so big that the pages just flop around! Bahhh! I've been practicing my flex writing and cursive in it hehe. I figure I should enjoy what I'm journaling in, right?

Yesterday, while I was at work, my cousin stole my apple ipad and
tested to see if it can survive a twenty five
foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation.
My iPad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know
this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!
