Pentel Brush Pen Doodles

I reviewed the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen a little while ago and attempted feebly to impress you with my brush pen skills...I may have failed at that, but I am still in love with this pen. I tried to do some more doodles with it, to get used to it more and to improve on my own skills. I may have gotten a tiny bit better, MAYBE. I hope you like!

I got the bird idea here!

If you're curious about the brush pen, check out my review here. If you'd like to try the brush pen out for yourself, pick up one at JetPens for just $13.50. It's super and I highly recommend it, especially for those new to brush pens (like myself)!

OMG! I liked your doodles(!) But they are not doodle anymore, they are becoming art day by day :)

I love your doodles! Don't throw yourself down, they're really good :D
I also love this brush pen, it's the closest to a real brush & ink I've ever seen <3 but for calligraphy, I've noticed the stiffer felt-tip brush pens are better (dunno why, they work best for me). Kristina Werner has some videos about it :D http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?s=calligraphy

I think you've done an excellent job with the sketches, and I wish I could write that well with a brush pen!

*blush* Thank you so much :) It's so much easier to sketch with a brush pen than a pen (for me) hehe

Thank you :D

Well said! I agree - which means now I won't feel guilty about venturing into more brush pens!

Oh Zeynep, you are too sweet! Thank you so much for the encouragement <3

Thank you!! I must let go of the notion that I suck at art lol. Although sometimes I really do.... seriously. I tried to draw a face yesterday. HAHAHAH it's SO scary. I'm going to check out Kristina's videos now - thanks for sharing! As I responded to Bonnie (previous comment), now I won't feel as guilty venturing into more brush pens!

PS there's some snail mail headed your way ;)

yay, I love snail mail! now that I had to severely cut my online expenses, my mailbox has been really lonely lol.

anyway, I once saw a quote about making art without worrying if it's good or bad, let the world decide that (and while they decide, make more art). Or something like that. It was a good quote :)

I love your drawings, Azizah! You are way better with a brush pen than I am! I can never quite figure out brush pens - they always just seem like fat markers to me. Your drawings here have a rather spare and minimalistic feel that I quite like - and I also really like your birds.

Thank you so much! Maybe I've lucked out and a brush pen is the only artistic tool I can use hehe. It seems birds and trees and shrubs are the only thing I can do LOL!
