Features, from JetPens
These 0.4 mm pens feature water-based ink in vibrant colors, formulated to sustain a long cap-off time. The pen tip is encased in metal to extend the pen's life and make it suitable for use with rulers and stencils. The unmistakable hexagonal striped design features a ventilated cap. Available in 25 different colors. The Stabilo Point 88 Fineliner 0.4 mm marker pen is a thin, long pen that has a similar orange-yellow body like that of a classic wooden pencil. It is hexagonal with white lines to define the edges, and an ink colour-matched end plug and cap.
The pen does post and even though it's long, posting hardly makes it feel much longer because the cap is so tiny. The posting is snug and very satisfying. The pen does not have a clip or grip but it's very light so it doesn't really need a squishy grip to make writing comfortable.
The 0.4 mm nib feels like a 0.4 mm and so far, the nib has held up well to writing. It hasn't broken, squished, or feathered. The ink is water-based so one would expect it to bleed like crazy in the water resistance test but I have found that non-waterproof marker pens bleed less than gel pens. This particular ink bled little but the lines smeared together. The lines remained visible though. The ink dries very fast so this pen is safe for left-handed writers.
My favorite part? THE COLOURS AVAILABLE. Wow. Stabilo does not disappoint in that department!!
The only downsides are that the body is plastic and it's too bad they're not made of recycled plastic, especially because they are not refillable. Sigh. You win some, you lose some, right?
