Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue Ink Ink Review
This ink dries at what I would consider a normal speed - not fast, not slow. With fine nibs, it's pretty quick, and with wetter nibs, it takes a little longer (30 - 40 seconds) but that's not all that long with a wet nib.

Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue Ink Comparison & Summary
PROS
  • Nice, classic blue.
  • Exhibits some shading.
  • No feathering.
  • No bleed through.
  • Minimal show through.
Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue Ink
CONS
  • Not water resistant.
  • Unattractive label on bottle/box.
OVERALL

Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue fountain pen ink is a classic deep blue ink. It's a well-behaved ink - it doesn't feather or bleed, and for a fairly saturated ink, it has minimal show through. It is quite affordable and is a great basic blue for work, school, and everything else, especially if you can ignore the unattractive label. The only real downside is that it's not water resistant so if you need a water resistant blue, you'll have to look elsewhere. Otherwise, I recommend you give this ink a go.

I've had my eye on this ink for some time. Such a beautiful color and a most excellent review as usual.

Thanks Jose and Azizah. I've never met a blue I didn't like, just have to avoid buying them so I can have more colour variety. :)

I'm not a big fan of blue inks but I'll have to go with Iroshizuku Kon Peki

Free ink? What's not to like, count me in, please.

I should have read the question first. I don't actually have a favorite blue ink - yet.

Thank you for the review and the giveaway. My current favorite blue ink is Lamy Blue but I didn't try many.

I think blue-black ink is awful!

Hello Gourmetpens,

I´m a little worried: looking for a blue ink with a lot of sheen I found this ink in some forums... now you are saying it has none:-(
what would be your recommendation(s) for a blue with a RICH RED sheen?

thanks in advance
Klaus

Hi Klaus! It seems my bottle of this was just low on sheen - I've since used a newer bottle that is much more sheen-rich. My other favorite is Sailor Jentle Sky High (discontinued but you may be able to find some bottles here and there). Also very nice is Pelikan 4001 Turquoise, and Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki, but these must be used with a wetter nib/pen for the sheen to show up.

Thanks for your reply. I will try those.
