- Beautiful caribbean sea colour! LOVE.
- Gorgeous shading.
- An outline is sometimes visible when using a very wet nib and ink is heavily deposited. Very cool.
- Resembles Caran d'Ache's Caribbean Sea ink (which is discontinued, this could be an alternative).
- Expensive.
- Not water resistant.
This Kaweco Paradise Blue is beautiful and is well-named. I love the gorgeous turquoise colour and I love the shading. I think it's just beautiful. Given that Caran d'Ache Caribbean Sea is one of my favourite colours and it's now discontinued (and I only have a smallish hoard of it), I have to find a replacement, and I think I've found it here.

I've not seen that outline behavior before. Are there other inks that will do that? It looks like it showed up in the 1.5 or wider (plus flex). If we make enough fuss, maybe the ink designers will start to build in that feature.
Such beautiful color and shading. I wouldn't have expected that from Kaweco. I had a blue (not turquoise) cartridge that came with my Sport Classic but it was very plain and boring, nothing like this one.
I don't see it very often.. I think of the ~150 inks I have used/owned, I've seen it maybe five times. Sometimes it's more obvious than others. Indeed it works best with wider nibs and definitely with flex where the ink has a chance to pool/saturate the page - similar to the sheen an ink sometimes has. I think it's really neat though, a lovely feature. I haven't a clue how manufacturers achieve either the sheen or the outline in inks though! Interesting to ponder!
Ah! I have never tried this in the cartridges. I have the sepia cartridge and I found that one to be rather dry and not nearly as rich and warm as the bottled version of it. I don't know if they are any different or if the cartridge just cannot deliver the ink as well as the converter can, but it looks way better in a converter.
