PROS
- Very nice colour! Unique green.
- Shades really well.
- Good flow, especially for dry pens.
- Slightly waterproof.
- I found the drying time to be slightly long but this is barely a con. Just thought I'd mention it.
So far, this is my favourite of the three Franklin-Christoph inks I've reviewed (Black Magic, Dark Denim). The colour reminds me a lot of Rohrer & Klingner's Alt-Goldgrün, which is probably my green of choice. The ink behaves pretty well and there is little to complain about. I'm quite taken with the colour.
I received this sample free of charge from Franklin-Christoph to review and enjoy. My opinions are 100% my own and completely honest. I was not compensated monetarily to write this review.

Do you know if the name is a marketing thing or is there some chemical issue that causes it to be labeled differently?
I really like the look of this green. It also reminded me of R&K Alt-Goldgrun, although the Olde Emerald looks a bit darker in your photos.
It's a lot like AG, and you're right, just a touch darker. I wanted to compare them but completely forgot when I was doing the review itself...... getting old... hehe. Similar colour profile. I love Olde Emerald now because AG is one of my FAVOURITE inks and this one is so close to it!
I am pretty sure it's just an older fashionable term for ink.. no difference to its make up, nothing to be worried about either :)
Thanks for the reply.
Ooooo, I really like that green!
