Field Trip: Damen/Papier Royaal Den Haag

On a recent trip to Den Haag, and after a painful but thrilling purchase at P.W Akkerman, we headed over to Damen/Paper Royaal, a pretty store that is chock full of paper. I love the entrance with the display windows, full of colours and selection (and temptation).

I'm not kidding - there's an excellent selection of goods and for each brand, there is a LOT to choose from. It's very well organized, by size and paper ruling. It's really, really hard to NOT leave with one of everything. Especially for someone with oneofeverythingitis.

That is the biggest Rhodia pad I've ever seen.

I love these notebooks!! I only bought three, despite the overwhelming desire to pick out one of each.

Adorable.
There is a large section at the back for bookbinding, but there is also very unique paper - handmade papers from Japan and Nepal - the former being thin and light, the latter being thick and full of texture and fibers. It's really interesting.

There is also some extremely cute things - such as mini blank notebooks. There are also normal sized notebooks, of course, but the smaller ones are cuter.

We went home with just a few items, but they were needed. Sort of. Reviews to come, but I'm already having fun with them!

  1. OMG! I can't believe that shop. There is nothing like that in the UK that I know of. ALL the notebooks, writing paper, etc, that I have to buy online is there. (Did I say OMG? OMG!!).

  4. It's a good thing this store is far, far away from me. Coming into contact with this store, I would probably suffer a heart attack of joy. And if I didn't die, my bank account would be emptied within minutes.
