Useless? You are the light of the internet! In all seriousness, I think writing is for most of us, most of the time, a pretty solitary affair, and it is great fun to see intelligent and well-spoken people (with a sense of humor) talk about pens and ink in a way that appeals to those of us who might care just a little too much about them.
I also hope science finds a cure for one-of-a-kind-itis before you go broke.
